Stuff for Students

If you are taking a language class at UNM, you have access to the resources at the Language Learning Center (LLC).

Films, Games, Magazines & More

We have lots of spaces for UNM Language students to sit, study and socialize! The Hub, as its name suggests, is in the center of the LLC and has lots of lounge seating for groups and individuals. Bring your coffee! It's okay to sip and snack in the Hub. Lab 3 is an open computer lab for drop-in study. We also have a Movie Room that has 3 computers and comfy couches. It's a great place to study or watch a movie - you can even reserve it - when it's not in use for classes or conversation groups.

Equipment

The LLC provides a variety of computer and audiovisual equipment for use by students. To see what equipment is available for student checkout, go to our Equipment page.

Films

We have a vast library of foreign language and culture films. Students may check out our films for viewing in the LLC.To see what films we have, go to the LLC homepage and select Search for Films in the right column.

Games

We have board games as well as web-based and video games in foreign languages. Just ask the lab attendants, and they can get you set up. Check out our Games page!

Software

We have lots of great software on our computers that you won't find in other computer labs on campus. Check out the full list of software

Conversation Groups

The LLC has CAPS conversation groups. Check in at the CAPS check-in table in the Hub of the LLC (Ortega, Room 124). Languages covered are Arabic, Chinese, ESL, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Conversation groups take place in the LLC but the room varies for each language. Sign in at the LLC, then proceed to the CAPS check-in table in the Hub.  See CAPS Conversation Group schedules for days and times.

Printing & Scanning

Language students have access to printers and a scanner at the LLC. You will need your Lobocard or your printing card to print from one of the lab computers. Scan using your own USB drive.
